Sanrio counter in a departmental store in Bangkok. :)

Well….. well…….  it has been about 2 weeks since I last updated this blog!

Well…. the reason being: I was away! I was in Bangkok, Thailand from 15-19 March 2008.

It was my first time in Bangkok. I must say it is indeed a shopper’s paradise!

And being a “shopping princess”, I shop, shop and shop away! And how can shopping be complete without Hello Kitty?

I went with this extra BIG Luggage weighing about 14 kg ……

and came back with these weighing about 34 kg! ….

I am somebody crazy about Japanese snacks. The packaging is just “Oh! So cute!” and nice. Almost irresistable!

All along, I know Giant Pocky ( A famous Japanese chocolate-coated stick biscuit) existed. They are like 40% BIGGER than the normal-sized pocky. However, as far as I know, they are only available for sale in Japan. Each time, I go Japan, I would buy them because they are “limited edition” and “seasonable”. (which means: if you don’t buy now, you might have to wait till the same season next year! Or never!)

Giant Pocky makes me happy…  Because they are “GIANT“! It’s such a wonderful and pampering feeling eating a gigantic Pocky. Very satisfying! :)

So if Giant Pocky makes me happy, what more a HELLO KITTY Giant pocky! :)

Yes! HELLO KITTY GIANT POCKY! :) (28 am in height!!!! Pretty huge! )

I saw them in the supermarket today and bought 4 boxes of them immediately! I was so surprised and yet thrilled to find them in a local supermarket!

 giant-pocky-contains.jpg

Contains:

  • 5 sticks of Pocky ( Green-tea /shimp flavour)
  • 1 paper board game ( VERY BIG! Measuring 53.2cm x 93.4cm!)

(Expiry Date: Oct 2008)

I’m so so happy about these GIANTIC Pocky! :)

I’m gonna slowly enjoy them till the expiry date ( but I don’t think they are going to last long before they land in my stomach) But oh well, I will keep the box for display in my Hello Kitty room! )

Note: Let me know if you like them, I think I will list 1 or 2 boxes on ebay to share with all you Hello Kitty fans out there! (Check out my Ebay listings soon! )

Or if you can’t wait, leave a comment in my blog and I will get back to you soon! :)

cake-mould-sample.jpgsilicon-mould-set-of-4.jpgsilicon-mould-super-big.jpg

Recently, I bought these Hello Kitty Silicon Die-cut cake moulds. It was a dream come true as I always wanted something like this but it was just so diffcult to find. I have been looking for them for a long long time. Am real thrilled when I finally found them and bought them on the spot! :)

And now with the craze of anything made “Silicon” bakeware. This is JUST the thing you need!

Benefits of this silicon-made Hello Kitty Die-cut mould :

  • Able to withstand temperature -40 to 230 degrees Celsius
  • Non-stick
  • Easy to wash ( this is really great because I really hate washing up after all the baking/cooking! :P   )
  • Light-weight
  • Flexible ( Easy to remove your cake out of the mould without ruining the shape)
  •  Versatile ( Use this for almost anything! Cakes/Jelly/Pudding/Bread/Chocolates and many more that you can think of! )

 The “VERDICT” :

Alright, so I tried baking a cake with this mould. yesterday. It turned out pretty well. Almost like the sample pictures above ( as you know sample picture from the supplier can be “decieving at times).

This picture is the ACTUAL cake I baked yesterday! :)

However, this cake recipe is not the best. So I’m going to try finding another cake recipe for this. I will load the recipe here when I find a really good one. :)
